My daily work involves the practice of drawing or painting still lives and figures and filling large newspaper pads with loose sketches using charcoal, paint and oil crayons. My finished work incorporates this daily practice with my interpretation of human relationships and my imagination.

Welcome to my website.

I work with acrylic paint, gels, pastes, hand-painted paper and whatever collage material I find in my life. It all finds its way into my work in varying degrees. I explored palm trees first, but for the past five years, I have explored vessels, focusing on their inherent forms, postures and patterns and how they mimic human qualities.

Generally, if my work in process makes me smile, or even laugh, then it's a success. And if someone finds something deeper in each piece, subtle or not so subtle, then my smile is just bigger. And ultimately, if it puts a smile on someone else's face, then it's a success for everyone.

"Things that are acquired consciously permit us to express ourselves unconsciously with a certain richness."

- Henri Matisse, 1933
